It’s a city that haunts the imagination: from the ornate pastel-hued façades of the buildings lining its historic streets to the plazas crowded with musicians and local characters, from the curving seaside promenade of the Malecón to the monumental museums and theatres, the impeccably kept classic cars, the world-famous nightlife, the music and art at every turn — there’s something about Havana that can’t quite be put into words, though generations of writers have tried.
