For ten years, Trinidadian designer Dhisha Moorjani worked in the retail business, selling handicrafts and home décor from India. Then in 2013, after deciding Indian creations weren’t always the perfect fit for the Caribbean market, she launched her own line, House of Jaipur. Moorjani has since designed collections filled with vibrant colours and prints, often featuring beautiful and intricate hand-beading. Although mum about her upcoming collections, she did reveal she’s currently experimenting with resham embroidery, making complex patterns using coloured silk thread. House of Jaipur’s glamorous and detailed pieces are for the multicultural woman who wants some glitz in her wardrobe, and for anyone who can appreciate a well-made item that’s different from the rest.
