Trinidadian designer Meiling is known for her classic one-of-a-kind outfits, the closest the Caribbean comes to haute couture. Over the past 40 years, fashionistas throughout the region have treasured her timeless, beautifully constructed clothes. She’s a regular at Fashion Week in Jamaica and has won awards for her career-long contribution to Caribbean fashion design.

But Meiling has always been young at heart and ready for new challenges. So she jumped at the chance to work with the local fashion chain store Micles. It gave her an opportunity to produce chic but affordable designs for a different clientele, with equally discerning taste—but smaller pockets.

For MSquared, Meiling has designed a line of casual mix-and-match outfits that carry her trademark touches. She’ll stitch a double collar to a loose-fitting linen shirt, mother-of-pearl or wooden buttons to a basic shirtdress, to add the detail that makes all the difference. Her simple, snappy designs are made from natural, breathable fabrics—cotton, linen, cotton jersey. They come in a range of colours, shapes and sizes that ensure there’s something for everyone.

Meiling’s MSquared designs are available at all Micles stores throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
